Featured New Member – Blue Wave Booster Club
You must have seen some version of this poster, whether it’s field hockey, soccer, ice hockey, basketball, lacrosse, football, or Post 53! Have you ever wondered who makes those posters, and how they get distributed. Who is behind all this??
This is the works done by our new member, aka “the team behind the team”, Darien’s Blue Wave Booster Club!
The Blue Wave Booster Club is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was formed in 2006 to raise money to fund the “WANTS” of Darien High School (DHS) Athletic Teams, The Band, and Spirit Squads. The Board of Education budget provides for the customary “NEEDS” of the respective teams. However, many teams have essential and customary “WANTS” that exceed their respective budgets. The Booster Club helps to bridge the gap between the operating WANTS and NEEDS of individual teams. To date, The Booster Club has provided over $500,000 to individual teams.
Their additional mission of the Club is to foster sportsmanship, school and community spirit across students, parents, teachers and staff. To that end, they launched Team Spirit Posters in 2019. (shown here) The intent of the Team Spirit Poster is to promote Darien Athletics/Band/Spirit Squads by honoring our exemplary student athletes – with emphasis on team captains and seniors – promote awareness of The Booster Club, and foster a sense of community spirit. LOCAL businesses underwrite the cost of the posters so they can be distributed for FREE into the community.

Alternatively, if you are interested in getting involved as an individual member, any contribution amount is appreciated with complimentary bluewave game tickets proivided with a donation of $100.
