Harlem Wizards hosted by the Blue Wave Booster Club!

The World Famous Harlem Wizards are coming back to Darien on Sunday, March 27th!!
March 7 — The Darien Blue Wave Booster Club is hosting their second annual Harlem Wizards match up against our own Blue Wave Team (made up of talented teachers and administration) in a basketball extravaganza loaded with laugh-out-loud audience participation at Darien High School on March 27th at 2pm.
BMW of Darien (lead sponsor), as well as Nola Physical Therapy + Performance and Palmer’s Market are sponsors of this afternoon of laughs and entertainment as the very comical Harlem Wizards try to outsmart and outdo our very own school teachers and administration.
“As we emerge from a tough couple of years of restrictions on group activities, we are very happy to host the awe-inspiring Wizards face off against a talented and brave team of Darien Teachers and Staff in an epic throw-down, excitement filled afternoon of basketball with plenty of extra dunks, crazy dribbles, amazing passes and fun on the court you can’t even imagine!” said Geoff Garfield, President of the Blue Wave Booster Club. “Can’t wait to see you there!!”
“I can’t give away too much,” says Garfield, “But our teachers are all over this and have been practicing after hours to become a lean mean fighting machine, ready to take on anything that comes their way.”
This huge community event will help raise funds for the Booster Club, a180 members strong organization (up from 55 in 2017/18 and 125 in 2019/2020). Just this year they have raised $35,000 to help supplement athletic and student run programs in Darien. The Booster Club has funded things like insulated rain pants and ipads for Girls lacrosse, black uniforms for Girls hockey and Boys soccer, a new sign for the DHS oval to announce squash match/dates/times/opponents/locations, insulated parkas with hoods for Boys Swim and Dive and ipads for Post 53 fly cars and ambulances.
“Our job is to make sure all of our programs have exactly what they need to be successful,” said Garfield. “We are very fortunate to have an amazing community that wants to support our kids.”

General Admission: $30 per ticket (lap children under three do not require a ticket)
Reserved Seating (limited): $40 includes Harlem Wizards poster + $5 souvenir credit to be used at the game
Courtside Plus Seats (limited): $60 includes courtside reserved seating, exclusive team pre-game meet and greet, Harlem Wizards poster + $10 souvenir credit to be used at the game

The Blue Wave Booster Club will host a concession stand outside of the gym (cash and venmo accepted!). These proceeds directly support the athletic programs at Darien High School for the physical development and betterment of its students.
