YWCA Darien/Norwalk Self-Defense Training Class
October 26 @ 10:30 am - 1:00 pm
$100 – $130Join YWCA Darien/Norwalk and the Darien YMCA for a transformative session designed to bring women and tweens/teens together through self-defense. We are honored to welcome Gloria Marcott, a veteran of law enforcement and expert in women’s self-defense, into our community.
At age 12, Gloria was abducted from a bus stop, an experience that ignited her lifelong mission to protect herself and others. Following an 18-year career in law enforcement, Marcott founded Soul Punch Self-Defense in 1992 and has since trained over 10,000 women. Her goal? To train 1 million women, who will in turn pass their knowledge on to millions more, creating a ripple effect of safety and empowerment across generations.
Join us to not only learn vital safety skills, but in our effort to build a stronger, more united community of women.
This event is part of YWCA’s annual Week Without Violence, a series of events during #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth to raise awareness, amplify survivor voices, and unite our community in the fight to end gender-based violence.
This event is open to those 10 years and older. Proceeds will go towards YWCA programming and education to end domestic violence.
