Equine Therapy in Darien!

We are excited to share with you the amazing news that the Pegasus Therapeutic Programs will be returning to Ox Ridge this summer. Pegasus Therapeutic Riding began at Ox Ridge in the 70’s. After moving to a beautiful farm in Brewster, NY, we continued a small chapter at Ox Ridge until the pandemic forced it to close. We plan to run an unmounted program for children with needs and for adults (also with needs or working in traumatic environments such as first responders, EMTs, police, firefighters, veterans, etc.).
The programs will run during the school year on Mondays, as 10-week sessions in the fall and spring, and a shorter session (5/6 weeks) in the winter and subsequent summers. This summer, we will run a sample/pilot program of 5 independent sessions in July/August, used for evaluation days for children (7+) and to get a “Taste of Pegasus” for potential youth and adult participants.

We invite you all to attend an Open House at Ox Ridge Riding & Racquet Club on Saturday, April 29th, between 2-4 pm, to learn all about the upcoming Ox Ridge Pegasus program and ways to get involved, as volunteers, funders, program participants, partners or potential horse-sponsors.
