Welcome to Restaurant L'Ostal!
Chef & Owner Jared Sippel and wife Lindsey moved to Darien before having their daughter in June of 2020 after closing their restaurant in NYC due to the pandemic shutdown. As new residents in Darien, they felt this was the perfect place to bring authentic cuisine, a curated wine list, creative cocktails and professional hospitality. They soon opened Restaurant L’Ostal in April of 2021 and set out to achieve these goals and offer something unique to not only Darien but Fairfield County. Restaurant L’Ostal showcases the food and wine of southern France, stemming from the Catalan region of Spain, to the Piedmont region of Italy. Mediterranean flavors flood the menu as the vegetable and olive oil driven cuisine showcase the different influences on the sun-drenched region of Provence. Everything on the menu from the fresh hand-made pastas to house-made charcuterie & classic French sauces, are carefully executed on a daily basis. The menu changes seasonally and the chef offers daily specials highlighting the season’s changes.
Restaurant L’Ostal has a small dining room, a 10-person bar that is first-come-first-served and an outdoor patio that is weather dependent. Reservations can be made through OpenTable or by calling. The outdoor patio is set to open at the beginning of April and you can call at 2pm the day-of to secure a spot outside. Chef Sippel & Lindsey are very excited to be a part of the Darien community.
