Darien Sidewalk Sales and Family Fun Days 2017-July 6th, 7th & 8th from 9am-5pm.
The Darien Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Sidewalk Sales & Family Fun Days on Thursday, Friday & Saturday, July 6th & 7th & 8th, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The First County Bank is continuing as the Title Sponsor of this fun family outing. This popular sales event features merchants exhibiting along the Post Road and at the Goodwives and Noroton Heights Shopping Centers. Many bargains, with discounts of up to 70 percent, are expected to be offered. The special newspaper insert which is a guide to the three day event will be available at the Darien Chamber tent all three days.
Thursday, July 6th: Shoppers can stop by the Chamber Tent to get a guide to the events over the three days. There will be a special treasure hunt for adults to win prizes with a list of participating retailers at the Chamber Tent. Children can have fun with a special guessing contest at the Chamber tent as well. Find out more about “Where’s Waldo” at Barrett Bookstore in Noroton Heights Shopping Center. Shake Shack will have free custard tastings at the Chamber Tent at 12Noon. Thursday is always a great day to find bargains for the whole family!
Friday, July 7th: Face Painter –Ela at the Darien Toy Box (11am-1pm) and Face Painters from the DEPOT at First County Bank (10am-1pm). Mr. Bungles with his balloon creations can be found at First County Bank (10am-2pm). Plus, The Sound Tigers Mascot-Storm (11am-1pm) and an Inflatable Bouncy House will be in the Downtown Area. Other attractions include Amazing Andy on stilts with his juggling. Enjoy a free Shake Shack Custard tasting at the Chamber Tent at 12Noon. Look around to find the Stiltwalker—you won’t be able to miss him! Finally, relax at the end of the day at Grove Street Plaza from 6-8:30pm listening to “The Mars Project” Band at the Summer Nights Concert Series.
Saturday, July 8th: Free Face Painter by DEPOT teens at First County Bank (10am to 2pm). A fun Bouncy House can be found next to William Pitt Sotheby’s for children to have some fun. On Tokeneke Rd, families can enjoy a cookie decorating event at SoNo Baking Co. (11am to 1pm), Face Painting by the DEPOT, and Amazing Andy will be walking around on stilts too! The favorite Face Painter -Ela at the Darien Toy Box from 11am -1pm. Shake Shack will have free Custard tasting at the Chamber Tent at Noon. 100 free Popsicles will be given out by the Chamber—get your ticket at the chamber tent for a Popcentric Gourmet Popsicle. The Stiltwalker will be walking around too! If you are hungry, stop by Uncle’s Hot Dog cart! If you are in the Noroton Heights Shopping Area, you will find face painting and balloons by the DEPOT Teens at At Home in the Heights. And…Darien Fire House will have a Fire Truck and a Darien Police Officer will be there with his special Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Listen to live music by the “Survivors Swing Band” at Grove Street Plaza 12-2pm. If you enjoy collectible cars, stroll over to Day Street behind Darien Rowayton Bank to find the 2nd Annual Collectible Car Show from 1-4pm.
